Today, all of our Grade 6 students participated in Field Testing for the new Grade 6 Science Curriculum! 📝⚛️ This was a great opportunity for students to engage with updated content, apply their critical thinking skills, and experience what’s ahead in science education. These field tests help shape future assessments and provide valuable insights into student learning. We invite our families to listen to the heartfelt reflections of our students following their visit to Bow Valley Manor. This experience offered them the opportunity to connect, serve, and truly see others through eyes of compassion and understanding. As teachers, watching our students take the lead in this way has been one of the greatest gifts. Beyond teaching curriculum, our ultimate goal is to guide them to go out into the world, to recognize the dignity in every person, and to see the beauty in every stranger. Words cannot express how proud we are of our students for stepping outside of their comfort zones to connect with residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s at Bow Valley Manor. Their kindness, patience, and courage were truly inspiring. The residents were overwhelmed by the love, generosity, and heartfelt interactions they received from what began as complete strangers but quickly felt like friends. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of human connection and the gift of presence. A heartfelt thank you to all the families who made this special day possible. Tomorrow we invite staff and students to join us in supporting Mission Mexico by collecting toonies—a meaningful way to live out our Catholic faith through service and solidarity. Mission Mexico, led by Catholics in Southern Alberta, funds life-changing projects for vulnerable communities in La Montaña, Guerrero, Mexico. These include schools, literacy, health, housing, and micro-economic initiatives. Just a loonie a week has empowered countless families to make a lasting impact. As we celebrate the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 12, let us reflect on her care for the marginalized and honour her example by supporting this vital cause. On Wednesday, we shared with our school community the news of the passing of the Most Reverend Frederick B. Henry, the seventh bishop of the Diocese of Calgary. Bishop Henry holds a special place in the history of our school, having celebrated our Grand Opening in 2016. His unwavering advocacy for publicly funded Catholic education in Alberta reflected his deep commitment to nurturing the faith and formation of young people. As we continue through Advent, a season of joy and hope, we are reminded of the promise of the Resurrection. Bishop Henry’s life of service inspires us to embrace that hope, trusting in the eternal joy of Christ’s love. Let us continue to keep him in our prayers, asking the Lord to welcome him into His heavenly home.

Grades 6-9 kicked off our Advent concert series tonight, and it couldn’t have brought us more JOY! 🌟🎄😊 Thank you to our students for sharing your talents with us, and thank you Mrs. Stearn for all of the wonderful music we heard tonight. Your time and talents make our band program SHINE! ✨🌟
