Wishing all St. Francis of Assisi staff, students and families a blessed Easter and fun-filled spring break! Classes will resume on Monday, April 17th 🐰
Today we celebrate the Institution of the Mass and the priesthood. the first day of the Triduum - a period of 3 days of prayer: Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil. Holy Thursday brings to mind the Lord’s Last Supper with the Apostles. Every minute of this Last Supper reflects both the Majesty of Jesus who knows He is to die the following day, and His love and affection for each and every one of us. What Christ did can be summarized in a few words from St. John: He loved them to the end. Today we are invited to meditate and pray on the love Jesus has for each one of us, and how we respond to it. #IBelieveInCatholicEd #HolyWeek #SFAFaith
Our students and their families blow us away with their generosity. Such a fruitful outcome for our Lenten project!

A huge thank you to our Grade 4, 5 and 6 students, teachers + the families and friends who sponsored them at their first Read-a-Thon on Friday. Together they raised $5614.00 for CHALICE. #SFAFaith #Almsgiving
As we journey through Holy Week, our students in K-3 kick-start their almsgiving challenge - CHANGE$ for CHALICE. Students have been invited to collect as many toonies and loonies until Thursday. Their goal is to line the lengths of our school hallways! Do you think they can do it? Stay tuned!
Tomorrow we will gather together as an elementary community to celebrate our Pace e Bene Awards - a chance to recognize those students who have born witness to our faith through the virtues of courage, forgiveness and love. Parent(s) and guardian(s) of the award recipients have been contacted in advance so that they can make necessary arrangements (if able) to be in attendance.
Grade 4 Gibbs put together blessing bags filled with essential toiletries to donate to the Calgary Drop in Center! They have had a Lenten season filled with almsgiving!
Chalice x Glamorgan Bakery Jr. High students are working together with Glamorgan Bakery to raise funds for our Lenten Almsgiving Challenge. St. Francis of Assisi has joined with Chalice, a Catholic international aid charity focused on child, family, and community development. They work closely with lay people, religious missionaries, and local communities to provide care for the many children and families caught in the dehumanizing grip of poverty. Our hope is to support our sister school, Chandurua Primary School in Tanzania, with local initiatives to assist with farming to feed all 419 students each day, classroom repairs, and resources for education. You can join in our fundraising efforts by ordering a delicious Texas Donut for your child to enjoy. What is a Texas Donut? A delicious Glamorgan Bakery X-Large sized chocolate glazed with sprinkles donut that is made fresh daily! Donuts are $5/each and must be preordered by this Thursday, April 6th. Donuts will be made and delivered on Wednesday, April 19th, for a delicious Easter treat! Thank you for all your support! PAY THROUGH SCHOOL CASH ONLINE.
