Division II (Gr. 4-6) enjoyed some buddy time together playing board games earlier this week! #RelationshipsSTF

We loved getting into classrooms today and learning alongside students as they participated in activities to recognize and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples’ Day! A little glimpse into Mrs. Olynyk’s class!

Today we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples’ Day. This is a national celebration where citizens from across Canada recognize the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of Indigenous Peoples. We were very blessed at St. Francis to have been supported with a wealth of resources from Miss. Showalter (our school Indigenous Team Lead) to use in our classes to honour and celebrate this day! Mrs. Threlfall’s class read the book, ”Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox” by Danielle Daniel. After reading, students made animal masks depicting the animal they most felt like. They participated in a circle with their talking stick, thanking earth for nature. They also did some oral storytelling! #STFLearning

Kindergarten students were smiling ear to ear this afternoon as they got to see their butterflies off! They’ve loved watching them transform from caterpillars to beautiful 🦋! #STFLearning “We delight in the beauty of a butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has to go through to achieve that beauty” - Maya Angelou

Thank you to the Grade 3 families for coming together and being so generous with providing a potluck for the students. It was so lovely to gather and enjoy food and friendship!

Our Lost & Found is on display in the atrium to provide students the opportunity to retrieve personal items before summer holidays. If you see something belonging to one of your children, send us a direct message and we’ll be sure it gets in their backpack to go home!

Hard to tell who is more competitive - Team Kindergarten or Team Dads!

There was a lot of fun to be had this afternoon in Ms. Leger’s Kindergarten class, especially when all of the Dads join in the games during their Father’s Day celebration! #STFSpirit

Grade 1 students were enjoying using their imagination to be creative as they constructed different figurines with their plasticine during art! #STFLearning

Walking into Grade 4B was a lovely way to spend the afternoon - the smell of flowers filled the space! Students were busy working on dissecting different flowers and identifying the various parts of the flower! #STFLearning

Our grade 9s couldn’t say farewell without recognizing the staff who journeyed with them during their time at St. Francis. This is just a snapshot of a much larger mosaic ☺️ It’s the joy of our work as educators. ♥️

Passing the torch - when St. Francis of Assisi opened, our current Grade 9 students started in Grade 4. To see this chapter come full circle, at the final stop on our Farewell Walk, the younger students offered a parting gift, and the older students offered a small token as well - an example of what was and what is to come! We are truly blessed here at STF! #STFSpirit

There is great grace in pausing to cherish the time we have had with this special group of Grade 9 students. Today we said farewell as they embark on the next stage of their journey: HIGH SCHOOL! Staff, students and parents lined the hallways to say one last goodbye! But we know, it’s not goodbye - it’s just see you later. Grade 9 students returned to the gym where grade 4 students were waiting with a special gift. Why grade 4? It’s the year this group started at STF! #STFSpirit

So wonderful to be able to celebrate our year-end Mass as a school community at St. James Parish in Okotoks! We were blessed to have Fr. Troy celebrate with us as we bid farewell to him! Fr. Troy will be moving to St. Luke’s Parish in Calgary NW. May the Lord bless you and keep you! We will miss you ✝️♥️

Living the virtues helps us see the beauty in the world and moves us to care for these as the precious gifts they are. Living the virtues helps us get more in tune with God.
