St. Francis of Assisi invites staff and students to wear blue to recognize the importance of Catholic education! Join us TOMORROW wearing BLUE to show your support for publicly-funded Catholic Education both locally and provincially! Why Blue? Blue symbolizes constancy, fidelity, genuineness, and aspiration, with a special association with the Blessed Virgin Mary. As May is traditionally recognized as the month of Mary, it is fitting to adorn blue attire on World Catholic Education Day. This serves as a visible celebration of publicly funded Catholic schools in Alberta and across Canada, honouring their invaluable contribution to education and faith formation. #Ibelieveincatholiced #STFAFaith #blueforcatholiced

Our Grade 9 students had an incredible day exploring history, innovation, and hands-on learning at The Military Museum. From touring the Naval Museum and handling real artifacts from various wars, to diving into a War of 1812 board game simulation and learning about aerodynamics and aviation, the day brought history to life in meaningful and engaging ways. Experiences like these help deepen classroom learning while giving students the opportunity to connect with Canada’s military history through interactive exploration.
Week at a Glance — Catholic Education Week This week, we joyfully celebrate Catholic Education Week across Alberta Catholic schools. This year’s theme invites us to reflect on the gift and purpose of Catholic education — a place where faith, learning, hope, and community come together each day in meaningful ways. This week, may we take time to celebrate the incredible gift of Catholic education, the staff who answer this vocation so faithfully, the families who partner with us, and the students who bring such joy and life to our halls each day. We are truly blessed to walk this journey together.
As we look ahead to Catholic Education Week, we celebrate our students who received the sacrament of First Communion yesterday. After a year of preparation, prayer, and learning — beginning with First Reconciliation and leading to this beautiful moment — our students received Jesus in the Eucharist for the very first time. We are so proud of each of them and grateful to our families, staff, and parish community for walking alongside them in faith throughout this journey. May today be remembered as a joyful milestone in their relationship with Christ. ✝️🤍 It was such a busy and joy-filled celebration that we missed capturing several of our littles who also celebrated today in this photo, but we celebrate each and every one of them just the same.
