Casen and Devon Taylor shared with us that they’re enjoying the sun, family, and time on the water at Koocanusa Lake! Wish we could join you! #SFASummer2022 Share your photos with us! We love seeing how our students, staff and families are enjoying their summer holiday!
We would love to see what our St. Francis of Assisi families are up to this summer! They will be posted to the St. Francis of Assisi Summer Photo Album 2022. Please include the who, what, where and when of your summer vacation travels or backyard fun! #STFSummer2022
We would like to acknowledge the traditional territories and oral practices of the Blackfoot Nations, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai. We also acknowledge the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3) and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. We are making this acknowledgement to further demonstrate our commitment to work together as a community in laying the foundation for reconciliation through education. Canada Day is an opportunity to consider the tremendous contributions of Indigenous Peoples to this land and all the people who live here. Canada was founded on Treaties and our nation-to-nation relationship with the Crown, sacred promises based on peaceful co-existence, mutual respect and sharing. How will you celebrate and enjoy the beauty of this country today? Share your photos with us!
We wish all of our St. Francis staff, students and families a summer break filled with joy, laughter, and lots of fun (rest & relaxation too)! We’ll be praying for you over the summer and are looking forward to seeing you all in the fall! May the Lord bless you and keep you until we meet again ♥️
A very intense game of chess took place at recess today. Quite the spectator show too! #STFRelationships
Can you remember what you said you wanted to be when you grew up? We loved learning about the plans and dreams our Class of 2034 has for the future!
Not sure who is more proud of this accomplishment - the community of St. Francis or Milo! A banner that will adorn the walls long after he has left us! Congratulations! #STFAthletics
As we countdown these final three days of school, we relish the moments with students who will not be here with us next year! Congratulations to our Grade 9 students who will be moving on to Holy Trinity Academy/high school next year! May God continue to bless and watch over all of you!
This tug of war wasn’t competitive at all!
Grade 4, 5 and 6 are enjoying the beautiful sunshine for their portion of Sports Day! #STFSpirit
Our Elementary Sports Day is under way! We are so grateful to Ms. Knudsgaard for planning such a fun day of outdoor activities! Thank you to all the amazing parent and student volunteers who came out to support this event, we couldn’t have done it without you! Hard to believe we only have a few days left before the summer! We are relishing every moment! #STFSpirit
To celebrate National Indigenous People’s Day, Grade 2S spent time yesterday learning the Métis teaching to “look listen and learn” and connect with all the roots of God’s creation.
Division II have planned some fun activities to build community and build excitement at the end of the school year. Today they’re participating in a school-wide scavenger hunt with faith questions scattered throughout the school. Hallways are buzzing! #STFFaith #STFSpirit
Division II (Gr. 4-6) enjoyed some buddy time together playing board games earlier this week! #RelationshipsSTF
We loved getting into classrooms today and learning alongside students as they participated in activities to recognize and celebrate National Indigenous Peoples’ Day! A little glimpse into Mrs. Olynyk’s class!
Today we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples’ Day. This is a national celebration where citizens from across Canada recognize the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of Indigenous Peoples. We were very blessed at St. Francis to have been supported with a wealth of resources from Miss. Showalter (our school Indigenous Team Lead) to use in our classes to honour and celebrate this day! Mrs. Threlfall’s class read the book, ”Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox” by Danielle Daniel. After reading, students made animal masks depicting the animal they most felt like. They participated in a circle with their talking stick, thanking earth for nature. They also did some oral storytelling! #STFLearning
Kindergarten students were smiling ear to ear this afternoon as they got to see their butterflies off! They’ve loved watching them transform from caterpillars to beautiful 🦋! #STFLearning “We delight in the beauty of a butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has to go through to achieve that beauty” - Maya Angelou
Thank you to the Grade 3 families for coming together and being so generous with providing a potluck for the students. It was so lovely to gather and enjoy food and friendship!
