STF staff and students observed Remembrance Day through a virtual ceremony yesterday. The poppies were proudly worn, beautiful Remembrance Day art was proudly displayed, and stories about heroes were shared. Our veteran speaker, Master Warrant Officer (Ret) Chris Atkinson talked to us about the importance of remembering those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom as well as striving to demonstrate respect, tolerance, kindness, and honour and to work hard to make the world a better place and to help the less fortunate, in the same way that peacekeepers do. Thank you to Mrs. Bilawchuk, Mrs. Stean, and our amazing Junior High students for organizing our beautiful observance. Lest we forget ♥️

Students in grade 2 learned from knowledge keeper Mrs. Angela Bear Chief yesterday by exploring the Indigenous veteran experience and stories. 🖤♥️💛

Our annual Take Our Kids to Work Day took place last week for our Grade 9 students. While most activities were virtual due to current restrictions, some of our students were able to join workplaces, like Keagen C. who spent the day at Okotoks Dental working with Dr. Comfort, and Karsten C., who spent the day learning all things IT at CTR with his Dad. Please share other pictures of your children and where they spent their day learning about different careers. We’d love to celebrate them and the businesses that helped make this day a success!
